The PEM 3.1 SX uses pulsed current combined with a tailored electrolyte flow to precisely remove metal from electrically conductive workpieces—without generating mechanical forces, heat and without any contamination of the surface. This eliminates thermal distortion, microcracks, or burrs, while enabling machining of hard to machine and even hardened materials such as tool steels, titanium alloys, nickel based alloys or cobalt-chromium.
